Donald moved with his family as a youngster to northern Illinois.  He attended Grayslake Community High School in 1959 and graduated from Round Lake High School in 1960.  Since high school, Donald worked for National T Grocery Store chain, and eventually worked his way up to store manager in Grayslake.  Donald married Margaret Meyer but later divorced.  He married Diane Petrovic on October 20, 1984. 

Donald loved talking to people which led him to a career in insurance sales, working for North West Mutual Life, Sentry Insurance and Travel Guard Insurance.  He retired in 2003.  He enjoyed woodworking and carpentry and was an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Intercession.

Don is survived by his wife, a daughter, a son, three grandchildren and three brothers.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers.
